Dying "intestate" does not mean you die in the neighboring state. It means you abdicate your responsibility to your family and do nothing about planning for what will happen to your estate after you die.
Doing nothing about your estate is not a wise choice. If you don't choose how your property will be distributed, your state will choose for you. See my YouTube at
