The holidays rightly turn our thoughts and hearts to our families.
Have you set up your estate plan to take care of them? Have your parents put things in place so that if anything were to happen to them, the family would know
exactly what to do? Have your adult children made sure that their affairs are in order so that if there was a tragic accident, the grandchildren would be taken care of?
It can be uncomfortable to bring up these issues, but being prepared brings such peace of mind. I have seen it over and over again. People walk out of my office after getting their estate planning done, and I can see the relief and peace in their entire
countenance.
The first pillar of a basic estate plan is a will. Setting it up properly can make all the difference. Check out my video
Do I Need a Will? and read our article "
How To Write a Will" to get started on what actions you may need to take to have things in place this holiday season.
