I am getting a lot of contacts from my “students” asking about emails that they are getting. The emails are all concerning FinCEN and the beneficial ownership information (BOI) filings. Some say that they need to get your information off the records. Some say they need to file to clear your terminated company. Some say they need to finish your filing, or you are still required to file.

FinCEN IS DEAD!

As I mentioned in this morning's video, these are all phishing scams. Please be careful. Don’t give anyone information or click on any link you are not expecting. I won’t click on anything unless you have called me, I am satisfied I know you, and you have told me why you are sending a link to me, and it all makes sense. 

You don’t have to follow up with FinCEN in any way for your BOI registration. 

FinCEN is still part of the government, and I get their notices. They are still active in foreign bank fraud and regulation of bank fraud in general, but the whole call to register American small businesses is dead.
