Merry Christmas everyone. Thanks for all your support this year and over many years.
We have a lot
of fun in our office. It is never boring. In the office I am considered kind of a joke. They would have fired me, but since I own the place, they have a hard time doing that.
Sariah has put together a collage of jokes and wisecracks I have committed in our YouTube preparations. You can find it by clicking here. Maybe they will put a holiday smile on your face.
In spite of the joking, we are doing very well at LegaLees. This year, Ben Rucker and I put together a really good course on real estate taxation called Mastering Real Estate Tax Strategies.
We have gone more and
more into tax work, because I consider the IRS your major asset protection threat. So, we have a full IRS division now. Actually, they are independent, because technically attorneys and accountants can’t team up. I guess lawmakers figure that it would be a dangerous combination.
A lot of people, my old (long-time) students have become accounting clients. We are saving people a ton of taxes in some cases. The nice part is Ben and I are both real estate investors and understand the taxation of real estate. We do a lot of work defending people who are in trouble with the
IRS.
I continue to write my monthly newsletter. I have written over 200 unique newsletters. I enjoy the writing, and those who get the newsletters are happy with the information.
I continue to speak, but not at the rate I did in years past. COVID-19 slowed things down, and before that I spent 5 years on the sidelines taking care of Kristy before she died of ALS in late 2019. We were married 46 great years. (Yes, I got
married as a baby.)
I remarried a year and a half ago. The relationship between me and Kristine is great, but bringing two households together is not easy. Actually, we are not merging any of our assets, and we live 60 miles apart except for a few days a
week. We both have families we want to be around and who are around us in our respective houses.
She still uses her last name. If anyone asks, I just say she was really famous before we got married and she
couldn’t drop her last name.
I look forward to working with each of you this next year. In the words of Home Depot, or someone famous, “Let’s Get It Done!" Have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones. Have a
Great New Year!
