Hi
ERTC
The IRS is going bonkers, worse than usual. Yesterday the IRS issued its guidelines for employers who had relied on the employee retention tax credit (ERTC) and were even receiving money in advance.
I’ll address the ERTC and then make a comment on the IRS that applies to everyone.
The IRS has terminated the ERTC retroactive to October 1st 2021. In a time when the government is giving lots of money away, that’s odd. The ERTC was authorized to go through the end of 2021.
Rather than writing a lot on the issue, let me just give you the IRS link to the published guidelines.
https://salinapost.com/posts/3070a9f0-72fa-4bca-8736-8296bd4bfcb3, or you can look it up for yourself. Being an asset protection geek, I never open any link that I am not expecting, so I understand reluctance to open a link. The
title of the paper is IRS: Guidance regarding retroactive termination of Employee Retention Credit.
IRS
As the IRS gears up to make your life hell, I will keep you posted as developments occur. The short story is the IRS has gone from a $12 billion budget in 2021 to almost a $100 billion operation in 2022. Job openings are currently available on the government's website for 78,000 shiny new IRS agents. Their directive is to add a trillion dollars
to the coffers next year through increased audits. This is going to be fun.
We will cover a fair amount of the new laws and new directives in my two-day Money Making and Asset Protection Boot Camp coming up January 14 and 15. We only take a handful of participants, because we want interaction with everybody there.
The January Boot Camp is still being held virtually, so the cost to attend is only $1,499 compared to the $2,499 for the live Boot Camps.
This is the first announcement of the Boot Camp, so let’s extend the early bird folks a 50% discount for only $749. I know that people wait for an opportunity to attend the Boot Camp, so this is your opening.
I am excited for 2022 and scared at the same time. Let’s see what we can do to make it a great year and overcome the obstacles. Ben Rucker, former IRS agent and enrolled agent, will be with me at the Boot Camp. It will be fun and informative – maybe shocking to some.
